December 2021 Newsletter - Peace

Dear Friends,
There are two things I love about December. One is seeing all of the festive lights everywhere. My favorites are the simple warm white lights wrapped around boughs of green pine, or generously strung across bare trees. I also find the sunsets absolutely stunning as the early darkness descends with golden orange, shades of blue and violet. Words can’t quite describe the feelings of excitement, peace, and awe these sights produce in me.
The winter solstice is approaching fast, which is the Earth’s rotational tipping point when the hours of daylight are shortest. The earth is now still, resting until spring. Regardless of what holidays you celebrate this season, many traditions include lighting candles in this time of seasonal darkness, as well as distributing goods to those in need, and taking time to rest.
We are all waiting for the light and the new year in some way or another. It is all too common to fill these days with the holiday bustle, but I encourage you to take the time you need. Right now is a time for rest, and maybe even reflection as the year winds to a close.
This year Terra Haven donated four Natural Spa Gift Baskets that were raffled off during St Charles Illinois District 303’s Teacher Appreciation Event. I hope all the teachers in our local school district feel appreciated, take time to rest during the upcoming winter break, and enjoy the many different gifts from our community that were donated to say Thank You to our teachers who are working extra hard during these unprecedented times!
Wishing you all peace and happiness. May the new year be green and bright!
Be well,
Nathaniel Thomas, owner/manager
