Mold loves moisture. Prevent musty odors by leaving the door of the washer open when not in use. This will prevent mold growth by letting the machine air dry.
Help your laundry stay fresh from the start by keeping your washing machine clean. Running a hot water cycle with vinegar and wiping down the filter regularly can prevent bacterial and fungal growth. Put a reminder in your phone to do this every 30 washes or 30 days as recommended.
Make sure to give your dirty laundry some space. Avoid overloading your washing machine more than ¾ full so clothes have room to agitate and get fully clean. And finally, don’t forget to check pockets, zip zippers, and tie any strings so clothes don’t get damaged!
I love using Earth Breeze Eco Laundry Sheets. They can go straight into the detergent compartment for hot or cold washes. My washer doesn’t have a separate compartment, so I put them right underneath where the water comes out and they dissolve completely. They are so easy to use, biodegradable, and eco friendly. Plus they’re dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, certified cruelty-free, and free from any bleach, dyes, parabens, phosphates, & phthalates.
